Global Policymakers to Attend Conference of Montreal – June 7 to 10, 2010

16th edition of the International Economic Forum of the Americas – The 2010 Conference of Montreal –  to include International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization and White House Officials.

Themed “Innovating to Succeed in a New Global Market,” the Forum will bring together the world’s leading policymakers and other stakeholders to address issues currently facing the environment, health care, energy and the global economy.

The Forum will also serve as a prelude to the upcoming G8 and G20 summits with a special session that will focus on the meetings.According to Founding Chairman Gil Rémillard, the 2010 edition of the Forum comes at a critical time for the global economy. “We are living in a new world order with unprecedented changes on a global scale. As economic recovery continues, our challenge is to find sustainable solutions to problems that involve every region in the world and will affect our companies and institutions for decades to come.

The goal of the 2010 Forum is to bring together the foremost experts in their respective fields to shed new light on these solutions and discuss options for the future,” he said.

The Conference of Montreal will bring together more than 3,000 participants, including business executives, senior officials, thought leaders as well as numerous international delegations.

– Paul Volcker, Chairman of the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director, International Monetary Fund and Bernard Kouchner, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs (France) will be among the over 120 panellists.

Vicente Fox, former President of Mexico, who will participate in the Conference’s International Trade and the Americas-themed luncheon session on Wednesday, June 9 at 12noon. Mr. Fox’s address is expected to focus on a social agenda for Latin America, and will draw on his over two decades of political experience in the region to provide insight on current social, economic, and governmental issues.
