Brazil Global highlights for 2010

As we hear the fireworks to celebrate the New Year tonight, Brazilians experience a feeling of optimism and accomplishment. Brazilian economy and self-esteem are up.

Brazil became more global this year and this has a lot to do with the good phase we are experiencing.

Our highlights

International attention. Brazil awareness grows abroad.  Since The Economist “Brazil takes off” in 2009, the number of articles on Brazil has grown exponentially. Other Financial Times and other important news around the world.

The Economist "Brazil takes off" issue was record in sales

Domestic economy is strong and Brazilians are wealthier.  Over 150 thousand Brazilians are now millionaires. Luxury industry grows above GDP rate. Louis Voutton opens more stores in the country.

More executives come to work in Brazil. Portuguese begins to move from the bottom of the list of business related languages.

Brazilian mining company Vale is present in the 5 continents

Brazilian companies acquires more abroad. Favored by a stronger currency and taking advantages of bargains in other countries, companies like Vale, Gerdau and JBS  are among the top movers abroad.

Our blog. Brazil became more global and our blog also did well. From the beginning of the year till now we went from almost nothing to 2300 hits per month. Our team got a new blogger in Paris, Ricardo, and debate is warmer with a different perspective.

We know our readers are sophisticated and educated people interested in business in Brazil. We thank you for your attention, your comments and suggestions.
