Brazil is selected as the best in corporate governance among emerging markets

A panel of 350 investors selected Brazil as the emerging country with the best corporate governance, in a vote conducted by ICGN (International Corporate Governance Network). Brazil received 71% of the votes, followed by China (15%), India (9%) and South Korea (5%). Initiatives such as the “Novo Mercado” (establishing stricter corporate governance standards for companies going public) are among the reason for this result.
