EXIM Brazil is created to support the export sector

Brazilian Federal Government announced the creation of Export Credit Agency of Brazil SA – EXIM Brazil, an export credit agency which will centralize and expand the government’s efforts in supporting the export sector.

The goal is to harden Brazilian exports, expanding opportunities for international market access for goods and services of high added value, manufactured and originated in Brazil.

The foreign trade operations will be transferred to BNDES Exim Brazil. The agency specializes in foreign trade to speed up the effective support of export transactions in the post shipment.

Luciano Coutinho, president of BNDES,  said that EXIM could facilitate operations that are currently a difficult financing market. He cited as example the sales of heavy equipment for energy, locomotives, ships, spacecraft and aircraft.
